From TaskDrive CEO to AI Operator: My New AI Journey

Tool Time Weekly #166: OpenAI's next-gen models, custom GPT creation, and AI-powered productivity tools

After an incredible journey as CEO of TaskDrive, I’ve decided to step down. It’s been a rollercoaster of highs and lows, from introducing AI-powered lead research to facing tough decisions like layoffs.

As Jeff Bezos said, “Being wrong might hurt you a bit, but being slow will kill you.” We’ve lived by this, constantly innovating and evolving our services.

Now, with a growing family and a newfound passion for AI, it’s time for a change. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved at TaskDrive, but ChatGPT, LLMs, and GenAI have captured my heart.

I’m excited to announce my next venture: AI Operator. It perfectly blends my passions - teaching, public speaking, operations, problem-solving, and growth consulting.

To everyone at TaskDrive - team members, leadership, founders, partners, and clients - thank you for shaping me into this new AI Operator.

This is my last newsletter as TaskDrive’s CEO. Next week, I’ll write as the Chief AI Officer of AI Operator, ready to help you thrive in the AI age.

Let’s dive into this week’s exciting newsletter!

News: OpenAI’s “Strawberry” AI Could Power Next-Gen Language Models

OpenAI is reportedly developing two groundbreaking AI models that could significantly advance the field. “Strawberry” aims to solve complex math and programming problems better than current systems, while “Orion” is designed to surpass GPT -4’ss capabilities with Strawberry’s help.

Strawberry excels at tackling previously unseen math problems and optimizing programming tasks. Its enhanced logic could allow it to solve language-related challenges more effectively when given sufficient time to think. Internal demonstrations showed Strawberry solving the New York Times word puzzle Connections.

As an AI consultant, I’m incredibly excited about these developments from OpenAI. The potential for AI systems that can truly reason through complex problems rather than just match patterns would be incredible. We may be on the cusp of AI assistants that can engage in much more sophisticated and helpful dialogue.

Anthropic Releases Detailed Documentation on Claude’s System Prompts

Anthropic has recently published comprehensive documentation on system prompts for their AI model, Claude. This move towards transparency is significant for several reasons:

1. It promotes openness in the AI industry, encouraging other companies to be more forthcoming about their technologies.

2. It intensifies competition, pushing companies to innovate and improve their offerings continually.

3. It provides valuable insights into the inner workings of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI.

For AI enthusiasts and professionals, these documents are a goldmine of information. They offer a deeper understanding of how advanced AI models like Claude operate and can be optimized. As an AI Consultant, I find this development particularly exciting and am incorporating these insights into my work and 1-on-1 AI coaching sessions with founders and CEOs.

One Guide: Mastering Custom GPT Creation for Enhanced Productivity

In today’s AI-driven world, leveraging tools like ChatGPT can revolutionize how we work and live. This guide will help you master the creation of custom GPTs to achieve enhanced productivity.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Understanding Custom GPTs

    • Custom GPTs are personalized AI assistants tailored to specific tasks or roles.

    • They’re crucial for maximizing the potential of ChatGPT in your daily workflow.

  2. Setting Up Your Custom GPT

    • Access ChatGPT and click on “Explore” in the top right corner.

    • Click on “Create” to start building your custom GPT

    • You’ll see a configuration section on the left and a preview mode on the right.

  3. Identifying Opportunities for Use

    • Look for tasks you perform more than 10 times a week.

    • Consider prompts you use frequently with ChatGPT.

    • Example: A Midjourney prompt generator for a brand’s specific style.

  4. Crafting the Perfect GPT

    • Define your goal clearly (e.g.,“I want to build a Midjourney image prompt generator for my brand, Elektronik Serpme,”).

    • Describe your brand’s style, context, and any relevant details.

    • Engage in a conversation with the GPT builder to refine your concept.

  5. Executing Your Strategy

    • Switch to advanced mode and refine instructions using the RACE framework (Role, Actions, Context, Expectations).

    • Add knowledge documents (up to 20, 10GB total) in .docx or .csv format.

    • Update instructions to specify when and how to use added documents.

    • For advanced users: Add actions to interact with external APIs.

  6. Testing and Iterating

    • Use preview mode to test your GPT thoroughly.

    • Make adjustments to the instructions if the response isn’t satisfactory.

    • Keep refining until you’re happy with the results.

  7. Publishing and Using Your Custom GPT

    • Click “Publish” and choose visibility: Public, Share with link, or Private.

    • Access your GPT from the ChatGPT interface:

      • Desktop: Left sidebar, under the main ChatGPT option.

One Media: Unlocking the Secrets of Effective Learning

I stumbled upon an incredibly insightful podcast episode for anyone interested in optimizing their learning process. Dr. Andrew Huberman, a renowned neuroscientist, dives deep into the science of learning and can’t help but be fascinated by the wealth of information he shares.

Key Highlights:

  • Dr. Huberman explores science-backed protocols to enhance learning efficiency, covering topics from neuroplasticity to the surprising benefits of self-testing.

  • The podcast challenges common misconceptions about studying, presenting counterintuitive yet effective learning strategies.

  • Learning more effectively in our fast-paced, information-rich world is priceless for personal and professional growth.

My Thoughts:

I started listening to this podcast as I drifted off to sleep, recovering from a recent illness. Even in my semi-conscious state, I was struck by the fascinating content. One point that stood out to me was the importance of sleep in the learning process. Incredibly, our brains consolidate information while we sleep, minimizing forgetting and strengthening neural connections.

As someone guilty of late-night study sessions, learning about the negative impact of staying up late to cram was a wake-up call (pun intended!). The idea that we learn mainly when sleeping after studying is mind-blowing. It’s changed my perspective on the importance of a healthy sleep schedule for learning and memory retention.

This podcast is a must-listen for anyone looking to supercharge their learning abilities. Whether you’re a student, professional, or lifelong learner, Dr. Huberman’s insights will revolutionize your approach to acquiring and retaining knowledge.
