The Club that everyone wants to join.... The Growth Letter by Tim Cakir - Issue #35
Hi everybody,
Have you heard about the new social media site that has a 1 billion valuation - before the public launch? How crazy that is that?
I’ve been spending a lot of time lately on Clubhouse.
Basically, it’s encouraging us to speak to each other again, and not through voice messages, emojis or memes as we’ve got so used to. It’s not video call either, which could be a relief for some people. It’s almost like back in the old days, when you’d call people on your Nokia 6110.
(Can you imagine if we’d been in lockdown in 1999 with only a Nokia 6110 and Snake to entertain us?! Scary right?)
More on Clubhouse later, but they deserve some credit for using exclusivity as a marketing tactic. Reply if you want me to send you an invite… ;)
Hope you will enjoy this week’s newsletter, and refer it to friends if you find it valuable!

Tools
The tool of the week is Clubhouse - the social networking site that lets you talk on the phone to people around the world!
Clubhouse is a new type of social network based on voice—where people around the world come together to talk, listen and learn from each other in real-time.
OK, it’s not as simple as that. There are countless rooms with meetings on various, super interesting topics. Still, I wonder - is a phone chat app worth 1 billion?
In my 2 weeks on the platform I’ve joined lots of meetings, moderated rooms and reconnected with old friends.
I need to spend a bit more time on there before I make my mind up about it. Maybe I can find an exciting angle for me to start a club or a room. What kind of topics would you like to listen to me host?
