The Growth Letter by Tim Cakir - Issue #15

I’m feeling refreshed after a long weekend camping in the Costa Brava. Getting out of the city for a dose of nature was pure bliss and I can’t recommend it enough. It’s important to take time out and disconnect every once in a while.

Now I’m back in the city, and there’s a lot of rumours going around about a 2nd lockdown in Barcelona, but for the moment there doesn’t appear to be any official restrictions put in place. Let’s hope everyone behaves sensibly so it stays that way!

Highlights

We’re all worried about the repercussions of the pandemic and lockdown for business.

There’s some good news for the local economy though. Spain is set to receive a whopping €140 billion from the EU to deal with the fallout of the pandemic. That’s the second-largest amount to be handed out to a European country, after Italy, and I think Spain is going to need it.
